  • When I studied Nutrition at Deakin University we were taught to treat chronic issues like weight gain, cravings, “lazy bowel syndrome” IBS, crohn’s, and colitis, with changes in diet. I mean, it makes perfect sense that if there is a problem with digestion that the answer should be in what we are eating...right?

It turns out that the human body is so much more complex than this, and often changes in diet achieve little because we are not addressing the underlying cause. We need to look at how the digestive tract is functioning, and this is controlled by complex interactions within our gut and nervous system.

In this workshop we will discuss how the different divisions of the nervous system interact to control the function of the gut, as well as the role of gut bacteria. But if it all sounds a little bit too "sciency" for you, don't stress(!), we'll also be practicing breathing and mediation techniques that are scientifically proven to simply and quickly regulate the nervous system and allow the digestive tract to function optimally.

My intention is to help you understand how your body works and to empower you to take control of your own digestive health.
